| Inaugural Charity Poker Tournament Hopes for Full House |
In an effort to continue fulfilling its commitment to provide a safe and loving family environment for children whose lives have been torn apart by abuse, abandonment and neglect, Girls and Boys Town of Southern California, the local chapter of the world famous Father Flanagan Nebraska Boys Town, will hold its inaugural Poker at the Park No Limit Texas Hold’Em Tournament and Banquet at Hollywood Park Casino on Friday, February 25, 2005 at 5:30 p.m. This will be an exciting evening that will benefit Southern California’s neediest children.
“This tournament and Girls and Boys Town represent an integral part of our efforts to support California’s children,” said Board of Director member Robert Hartmann. “It also provides an opportunity for those concerned with the welfare of children to network with one another in a relaxed and fun environment.”
Tournament attendees will receive a copy of Doyle Brunson's Poker Bible “Super System” and a beautiful golf shirt emblazoned with the Girls and Boys Town logo. Winners will qualify for a number of great prizes, including a six-night, seven-day trip to Ireland, a three-day, two-night trip to Manhattan, and tickets to Dodgers, Angels and Lakers games. The tournament will feature a variety of live entertainment and opportunities for new players to observe and master the game of No Limit Texas Hold’Em.
“Counting on traditional sources of support can be a gamble,” continued Hartmann. “We are proud to host an event that brings people together to benefit such a worthy cause.”
