| The Casino de Montréal is Supporting the 15th Edition of the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles |
Proud to be associated with the 15th edition of the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles, the Casino de Montréal is also delighted, under the banner of the Gala Aventure des Gazelles, to be once
again welcoming the North American teams taking part in this international competition reserved exclusively for women. The gala and a show will be held at the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 starting at 6:00 p.m. During this special evening, the Prix Casino de Montréal will be awarded to the duo voted by the Gazelles to have demonstrated the greatest team spirit over the course of this gruelling long-distance automobile rally.
In bestowing this recognition, followed by a dinner and show, the Casino will be underlining the courage and determination of these participants who will have braved a course of close to 2,500 kilometres piloting all-terrain vehicles through the Moroccan desert over eight days. More than 200 women of various countries and cultures, including 30 from Québec, will be competing in this adventure that will unfold between April 21 and April 30, 2005.
"The Casino de Montréal is extremely pleased to be hosting the fourth Gala Aventure des Gazelles in recognition of the participants' daring, tenacity, resourcefulness and spirit of competition," emphasized Casino General Manager, Yves Devin. "By supporting this rally, and by affixing our emblem on the competitors' vehicles and vests, the Casino, in turn, will be
obtaining international recognition."
For the first time this year, Loto-Québec will be taking part in the rally. Bearing number 126, Team Loto-Québec consists of the Corporation's own Nancy Dumouchel, and her teammate Monya Ostiguy. Both young women will be competing for their first time.
"The Casino is indeed very proud to be involved in this much-publicized international competition featuring a good number of Québecers," concluded Yves Devin. "And, of course, we wish them all the best of luck."
